PACT’s progress showcased at Nordic Congress of General Practice and WONCA Europe Conference
It’s been an exciting time for PACT! We have been sharing our innovative model of primary care research with colleagues from around the world. There has been significant interest and support for our PACT model, particularly how we involve our members in developing research questions, feedback directly and quickly to practices through our practice reports and recognise the contributions of all PACT members in our research outputs.
Our international collaboration continues to flourish with our Danish colleagues from Aarhus University, and we were invited to present together at the Nordic Congress of General Practice in Jönköping, Sweden. We presented about how to use clinical Audit as a driver for collaborative general practice research and together envisioned what the future of primary care could be if we continue to champion and develop primary care research.
We also had strong representation at the WONCA Europe Conference in Paris, which is one of the largest gatherings of family doctors, researchers, and primary care professionals. Together with colleagues from across Europe, we shared our model alongside examples from France, Spain and Luxemburg.
Our member-driven approach with input from a vast number of colleagues (we now have more than 1300 members!) across the primary care team is something that other countries are keen to learn from and implement in their own settings, as practice-based research networks continue to develop worldwide. The conferences provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from one another.
Presenting at both conferences reflects the growing recognition of our work and these opportunities would not have been possible without the dedication our PACT members, whose ongoing research and commitment to improving primary care continue to make an important contribution both nationally and internationally.
